Formed in 1964 by Edwin Flores and Francisco Guevara, the band struggled to find a lead singer they deemed satisfactory, so Flores, with his unique rough, guttural voice stepped up. They reached national acclaim in 1965 with their radio hit “Demolición” a short jumped up song with oft repeated lines about demolishing a train station.

Years before punk had made it mainstream, 10 years before Johnny Rotten would even pick up a microphone with the Sex Pistols, Erwin Flores and Los Saicos were causing a ruckus down in Peru with their album “Wild Teen Punk from Peru 1965”. Bands like the Black Lips have cited Los Saicos as a huge infuence. We love this Peruvian punk spirit and it is just as integral to the brand as the Peruvian alpaca fiber we use.
